Who We Are

This website, goosslaw.com, is operated by Gooss Law, LLC, a law firm at 15 S. Main St., P.O. Box 96, Bowman, ND 58623. In this policy, “Gooss Law,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Gooss Law, LLC.

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or contact us through it, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you share with us as a client is also protected by our professional duty of confidentiality.

Information You Provide

When you use the contact form on our website, we ask for:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • The area of law your question concerns (optional)
  • Your message

When you send the form, your message is emailed to our office, and a copy is stored in our website’s database along with the date and time, the page you sent it from, your IP address, and your browser type. If you call or email us instead, we receive the information you choose to share.

Please do not send confidential information through this website or by email before speaking with us. Contacting us through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically:

  • Server logs. Our web server records basic details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. These logs help us keep the website secure and working properly.
  • Cookies. Cookies are small files that your browser stores. Google Analytics and Google Ads use cookies, as described below.
  • Website fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. See Google’s Google Fonts privacy information.

Contact Form Protection: Cloudflare Turnstile

To protect our contact form from spam and automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. It checks that a real person, not a bot, is sending the form, usually without asking you to solve a puzzle.

To do this, Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details, which Cloudflare uses to detect and block bots. For details, see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website: for example, which pages are viewed, how long visits last, what devices and browsers are used, the general area visitors are in (such as city or region), and how they found our site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information and gives us summary reports. These reports do not tell us who you are.

To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Search Engine Tools

We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to see how our website appears in search results. These services give us summary reports, such as the searches that led people to our site and how often our pages were shown and clicked. They do not add cookies or tracking code to our website, and their reports do not identify individual visitors.

Facebook

Gooss Law has a Facebook page. If you follow, like, comment on, or message our page, we receive the information you share there, and Meta Platforms, Inc. gives us summary statistics about how people interact with our page. Meta’s use of your information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

Our website links to our Facebook page. Following that link takes you to Facebook, where Meta’s terms and policies apply.

How We Use Information

We use the information described in this policy to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and, when appropriate, schedule a consultation
  • Check for conflicts of interest before discussing a matter with you
  • Operate, maintain, and improve our website
  • Understand how visitors find and use our website, and measure how our advertising performs
  • Protect our website and contact form from spam, fraud, and misuse
  • Meet our legal and professional obligations

How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent the personal information you give us. We share information only as needed to run our website and respond to you:

  • Service providers that host our website and deliver our email
  • Google, Cloudflare, and Meta, as described in this policy
  • When required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or when needed to protect our rights or the safety of others

Your Choices

  • Cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Some websites may not work as intended if you do.
  • Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Personalized ads. Use Google’s My Ad Center or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
  • Your information. To ask what information we have received from you through this website, or to ask us to correct or delete it, contact us using the details below. We may need to keep some information to meet our legal and professional obligations.

Our website does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Data Retention and Security

We keep the information you send us for as long as we need it to respond to you and to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations. Google keeps analytics and advertising data according to its own retention settings.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, and our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Still, no website or email is completely secure, so please use discretion in what you send us online.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through our website, please contact us and we will delete it.
